The many uses from the Tree of Life – Virgin Coconut Oil
Not all oils are created equally. This is especially the case between virgin coconut oil (or VCO) and refined coconut oil (or coconut cooking oil). Though both are originated from coconut, VCO is not the same with coconut cooking oil because of the different extraction and production process.
VCO is 100% natural, non-hydrogenated, unrefined & unbleached. Studies have shown that VCO has many benefits, not only it can help to boost our immune system and speed up metabolism, it can also be used as beauty products!
VCO is rich in medium-chain fatty acids, a type of fat that our body metabolizes differently than most other fats. Studies show that it has positive effect of reducing the high blood pressure, lowering the risk of heart disease, and improving the brain performance. The fatty acids also help to burn the fat and provide the energy our body needed.
The lauric acid in VCO, which can also be found in mothers breast milk, possesses anti-bacterial, anti-viral, anti-fungal, and anti-inflammatory properties. This will boost the human immune system and help the body fight infections.
On top of that, VCO is a good antioxidant and has natural moisturizing properties. Therefore, VCO can be a good choice to minimise skin problems, microbial infections, neutralize toxins, and lessen the formation of free radicals.
With all the benefits, it is good to include VCO to your diet. However, please be reminded to consume VCO in moderation or follow the professional advice of qualified dietician to achieve the best possible effect to your body.
