The many uses from the Tree of Life – Desiccated Coconut

Desiccated coconut is coconut meat that is grated and dried, available in unsweetened and sweetened forms. It is frequently used in baking to compliment baked goods with added texture and flavour. On top of that, it is commonly added to smoothies or sprinkled on salads.

While desiccated coconut has no trans-fat or cholesterol, it is rich in some essential nutrients such as dietary fiber, selenium, manganese and copper. Studies show that dietary fiber and selenium may lower the risk of heart disease. Whereas, manganese and copper aids in energy metabolism.

Let’s try adding some desiccated coconut to your baking or smoothies!
