Umm Ali, Egyptian Bread Pudding with Kara Coconut Cream

‘Umm Ali’ translates to ‘Mother of Ali’ is a traditional Egyptian Bread Pudding, which was first prepared during the Mamluk era and has remained popular over the centuries. This warm dessert is made with puff pastry, a variety of nuts and dry fruits, and milk.

A lovely tropical twist is introduced to this recipe by having the whipped cream in the combination of Kara UHT Coconut Cream and Mascarpone. If you cannot find mascarpone, you may replace it with soft cream cheese.

This sweet, warm and milky dessert with a gorgeous mix of textures, is especially popular during the fasting month of Ramadan.

Enjoy!
